"Raccoon City Besieged!"

RACCOON CITY (Apr. 6) – Fires exploded and the walking dead rampaged as the citizens of Raccoon City scrambled for safety against an onslaught of growing legions of flesh eating hordes. What had once been a quiet, peaceful Midwest City now resembled a vision into the darkest regions of hell itself. Few have survived what can only be described as a growing plague of ravenous and highly contagious, flesh eating zombies. What began only a few days ago as a few isolated events has now grown in mass to an overwhelming army of the infected killers.

R.P.D. Officer Kevin Ryman said, “In all my years as a policeman I have never been witness to such widespread destruction and devastation to human life. As far as I know, I am all that remains of my squad and with the infected growing in number who knows when and if this will be contained.”

All the turmoil seems to have been brought about by some kind of undetected virus. Once a person is bit by one of the infected it takes little time for the virus to spread, thus overtaking the individual and eventually causing them to turn. Dr. George Hamilton of Raccoon City Memorial said he had never seen anything like it, “As a surgeon, I do not usually treat patients with viral infection, but what knowledge I do have tells me this is something completely new, extremely contagious and highly deadly.”

To add to the problem, it has been reported that packs of bloody, ravenous Dobermans have been roaming the city attacking citizens along with lethal flocks of Crows. At this point the information on the Dobermans and Crows are only rumor, but citizens should still be extremely cautious when venturing out into the streets.

For now, Raccoon City occupants are urged to seek refuge at one of the rescue centers set up by the Umbrella Corporation and located throughout the city. If you can not make it to a rescue center you are advised to try and make your way to the Raccoon City Police Department as soon as possible.

“This Is Hell On Earth.”

By Ronald Purtee (ZNN Field Reporter)
Edited By Patrick D. Simmons (ZNN Station Manager)

RACINE, WI (Mar. 26) - Attack victims converged on the Snyder Medical Center in downtown Racine, Wisconsin today. The booming metropolitan hospital with all the latest techniques in health care seemed barely able to handle the onset of wounded who seemed to show up in never ending droves.
"We started seeing only a few cases a day when this whole thing first began last week." Said Dr. Bruce Norton, Head of Snyder Medical’s ER and Trauma Center. "Not only are the medical supplies dangerously low, but we seem to be running out of room to accommodate all the victims who are constantly arriving."
Passing through the ER, looked like a war zone. Many of the wounded and injured lay on the ground, or across desks and many were still bandaged with the make shift rag dressings they had used when they first arrived. These were the bloody victims of the recent attacks from the aggressive individuals that have now been confirmed to be the living dead.
Strapped to a gurney, a man lay writhing in pain, huge hunks of his right shoulder missing. Bite marks remain where the muscle once was attached to the bone. It seemed no amount of morphine could ease his pain.

"This is hell on earth.” Winced ER intern Shelton Whitmore, “This is only my second day on the job and already I’ve seen things that will haunt me for the rest of my life. I saw a guy come in here who didn’t have an arm. It had been bitten and ripped clean off from just above his elbow. We did everything we could to help him but military doctors came in and quickly isolated him to the 7th floor.”
A phone at the reception desk sidetracked Whitmore, informing him that the armless man had just passed away.

And still the human drama continued.
A woman in tears frantically entered the ER lobby holding what was left of a small infant. The child appeared to be missing the lower half of it’s body and yet it’s arms continued to wave about wildly, clutching at the air and the nurses as it let out an ungodly cry. Soon the baby was quickly snatched up by military police.
“That baby should have been dead!” Remarked Nurse Carmella Sanchez as she desperately held back tears.

At approximately 2:30 PM a huge commotion erupted near the elevators in the back of the ER. Armed members of the Military and National Guard herded all those who were not injured into the front lobby while a man in uniform shouted to several troops declaring they were needed immediately on the 7th floor. We remained in what we believed to be a fairly safe area for several minutes until screams and gunshots rang into the air. At that point, we were told to head to the parking lot for safety as more inhuman screams and gunfire erupted from inside the hospital.

Then there was silence.

(Panic in the Snyder Medical Center parking lot as hundreds flee for safety from the zombie infested hospital)

We thought the worst was over, as we waited outside in the parking lot, crouched down behind a line of military soldiers. Suddenly wailing, animal-like screams and howls began growing from inside the walls of the hospital. Louder and louder they became until a group of crazed individuals burst forth from the hospital lobby and ran towards those who were waiting outside.

The military immediately opened fire, bringing down several of the aggressive infected. One woman began screaming at the military, “You just shot my husband! He was trying to get to me! You just shot my husband!”
A stray bullet hit an oxygen tank causing it to explode, as gunfire continued in all directions. From the hospital windows we could see unspeakable acts of carnage taking place. On every visible floor doctors, nurses and patients could be seen as they fought off the onslaught of the ever-increasing horde that had now taken over the hospital.
It was at this point that we were ordered by the military to get into our vehicles and leave. We did not hesitate. Although several failed attempts have been made to reach the hospital for comment the military did issue a statement concerning the matter. The statement reads:

“If you are in the area of, or making your way to The Snyder Medical Center do not do so. Citizens who were seeking refuge or medical attention at Snyder are urged to look elsewhere. The Federal Government has deemed it no longer safe for anyone to occupy a private residence, no matter how secure, or well stocked. Citizens are urged to make their way to the nearest rescue center at once.”

One of the many places that officials have urged people to seek out during this time of chaos and destruction are local hospitals, but after today’s events at Snyder Medical Center even that may not be the solution.

Manhattan Left For Dead?

By JOSHUA CAMDEN, ZNN

New York, NY (Mar.23) - With the wireless Internet one of the only communications left to pass along news there is one rumor that seems the subject of much controversy. The rumor states that the government is in talks of bombing several major bridges connecting Manhattan Island to Long Island and New Jersey. But why would they do that?

Grisly and disturbing pictures of the undead in Times Square, Central Park, the Financial District and many other popular spots on the island were plastered on the fronts of news papers nearly two weeks ago. One of the last known and largely used rescue centers on Manhattan Island was discovered to be over run with zombies after transmissions ended late last Sunday.

With little hope of survivors getting out the once highly populated Manhattan, Government officials have begun planning to slow the out break of the undead in neighboring New Jersey and Long Island. The Holland Tunnel and Lincoln Tunnel were inoperable once the zombie plague began after residents and tourists of Manhattan fled the island. Traffic was stalled in the tunnels before massacre broke out and it is believed due to the amount of vehicles stranded in the two tunnels, there is no way in or out of them.

The news has received a public cry of outrage stretching from the East Coast to the West Coast. Citizens are horrified at the thought of stranding survivors without any means of help.

"Those poor survivors will never make it. With no bridges left to leave the Island where would they get help? They'll be running to their graves" Nancy Ives said through tears when she heard the rumors. Ives later said she had friends and family whom she still believes are alive on Manhattan Island.

"What was once a world icon is now stipulated to be left for dead in the wake of the devastating plague. Now they want to kill the ones who have made it through so far alive. Will they soon begin to start bombing major cities? Is that the answer?" Asked Tom Mackenzie as he watched his children playing in the Calloway Chapel Rescue center in Providence, RI.

(The "living dead" invade New York's famous Brooklyn Bridge as the zombie threat grows more desperate.)

The bridges expected to be destroyed are as follow:

Brooklyn Bridge
Long Island Expressway
Queensboro Bridge
Washington Bridge

All we can do now, is wait.

A New Day In A New World

By JOSHUA CAMDEN, ZNN

PROVIDENCE, RI (Mar. 19) - They came in droves from all across the state once Calloway Chapel and connecting rectory was announced as a rescue center. People of all ages, races and class came, all with the same horrifying story.

"It was something out of my worst nightmare. People in the streets screaming for help and no one to help them. It was every man for himself" Scott Kerry said describing the scene below his apartment building last Saturday night when the zombie outbreak first began in the area. Kerry later safely made it to the chapel with several of his neighbors.

Most residents here at the chapel agree with Kerry. Something out of a nightmare. A nightmare where the dead rise and attack the living - and whoever they kill, get up and kill. As we saw on news reports from all over the world, for many it is a sign of impending Armageddon. With rescue centers popping up in every city, in every state one has to wonder, 'how safe are we and where do we go from here?'

Police Chief Peter Corelli stated earlier "For the time being these rescue centers are a safe haven for all who reside inside them. It is only a matter of time before the government sends help."

But residents are hesitant to believe them. Rebecca Shaw, mother of two, asked "Where was the government when our neighborhoods were under attack, where was the government when the zombie outbreak started? If they haven't come yet, what makes (Corelli) believe they will come at all?"

Officials began talks over a plan to send out busses to residential areas to pick up any survivors. No official word when this plan would go into action, but as a precaution they are asking everyone not in a rescue center to make clearly visible signs of life in homes or buildings.

Our situation here at the rescue center is stable for the time being. Something appears to be driving the undead towards our location but have so far not been able to get passed the various barricades. Centers in the South have not been as lucky. We've gotten word that it was believed the undead are following the scent of the living and that by starting a nearby fire would throw off the scent. The plan backfired causing structural damage to the center. No word on casualties or if the center is still in operation.

As familles here mourn the loss of loved ones, they are greatful for the hospitality and shelter the center is providing. In the advent of blackberry's, palm pilots, laptops and cell phones - all used by battery power, the loss of electricity in most highly populated areas proves to be no problem for the communication technologies of today.

Officials are making it clear that no one should attempt to leave the safety of their hideouts. Main roads have become too treacherous to drive down and with an undetermined amount of zombies at large, survivors should remain where they are until the official word of rescue comes.

Until then, this is Josh of the Zombie News Network reporting from Calloway Chapel. God Speed.
